Why can't I access some of the library databases when I'm off-campus?

Good question!  Some of our databases use the Oxy IP address to verify that it is an Oxy student, faculty, or staff member using it.  These are a minority of our databases but if you see the icon of an orange paw in a black bordered box  next to the name of the database, then you will either need to be on campus or if off campus, use the Oxy VPN to access the database.  Instructions to set up the Oxy VPN can be found on the ITS Remote Access page under Remote Connectivity Tools.  Please contact the ITS help desk directly if you need help with the VPN.
